Objective Statements are Outdated

Resumes have evolved over time. Writing an objective or a goal for your career on your resume used to be the way to go. Now recruiters are looking for something with more substance. Resumes are no longer just a list of tasks that you can perform. They are professional marketing tools to advertise your professional accomplishments, qualifications skills and education. Adding a Career Summary or Professional Summary at the top of your resume is your first opportunity to catch the recruiters eye and spark their interest to want to read more. Use a Career Summary or Professional Summary to quickly highlight accomplishments, impact and strengths tailored to the new role you are seeking. Need help with yours? Never Leave An Interview Without Asking Questions

The common misconception is that a job interview is only to determine if you are a good fit for the job and the culture of an organization. However, reality is, it's also an opportunity to determine if the organization, job and culture are a good fit for you and your professional growth, development and overall career goals. Employment is a partnership, and the best way to determine if the partnership will work is to ask questions. These questions should be centered around the core values and interests you deem important in an employer. We spend a majority of our time and lives working, why not make sure your time and efforts are valued, impactful to your goals and benefit you.  Check out my blog about Questions to Ask at the End of your Interview.  Let's get you prepped for an interview today.
